Message from the Head

Welcome to the Department of English at Khulna Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah University (KKBAU)!

Named in honour of Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (R)—a noted educationist, reformer, and sufi—the university was established in 2018 by Dhaka Ahsania Mission. The Department of English was the first to open, aiming to equip students of southern Bangladesh with strong English communication skills for academic and professional success.

Our program integrates the four pillars of language learning—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—while encouraging students to use English on campus. Courses are designed to build analytical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, supported by seminars, debates, presentations, and research activities.

The department currently offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English, a 4-year, 8-semester program at an affordable cost. Guided by experienced faculty, graduates are well-prepared to compete in the job market and contribute meaningfully to society.
